majlis nikah was held on 17/11/07 at No 25 Jln AU1C/3K, Tmn Keramat Permai, KL.
start afte isya.. tp juru nikah smpai lambat sket, so rombongan n pengantin laki kena tunggu tok kadi smpai. lama gak tunggu juru nikah smpai sempat sembang mcm2.. hehe!

Ohio State University Commencement
|
|
Alhamdulillah last weekend was a great day for me. It was the Ohio State University Commencement Day (a.k.a. Convocation Day) where I received my hard earned degree. The guest speaker on that day was Mr. Bill Clinton, the former president of U.S. and he received a warm 2-minute standing ovation when he entered the stadium (a.k.a. the Horse Shoe). However, that wasn't the best part of the day (beside receiving my degree from the Dean of College of Engineering whose name I still don't know). The best part was the celebration from friends and families that came from as near as across the street to as far as Kent and Morgantown!
Thank you for attending and celebrating to Syazwan, Abg Rashid, Kak Melati, Hakim, Nadiah, Aiman, Aizat, Abg Mokhtar, Kak Kuzi, Faris, Amanda, Hanna, Madir, Nazri, Taufek, Che Mie, Rahim, Fatah, Ezzam, Yazid, Zharif, Arif, Manbai, Amat, Dania. Also graduating: Tai.
Before commencement, breakfast nasik minyak with rendang ayam and kari daging made by Kak Melati from Kent. After graduation, pre-lunch cinnamon roll and bengkang ubi with cream cheese made by Kak Kuzi from Morgantown. The only thing from Columbus was chiken nugget hangit (my bad, forgot about them in the oven). Late lunch at Fahzy's where Kak Juli made multiple chiken dishes, special kerabu Indon and homemade buns. Finally, we had a special graduation cake green in color with a hat and orange tessle made by Kak Kuzi. Terima kasih semua, sedapnya tak tergambar kat dalam fotopages ni.
That day was also the last time I met the two close families from Kent & Morgantown. InsyaAllah after this we'll have another reunion in Penang perhaps celebrating Dr. Melati, Dr. Mokhtar, and Dr. Kuzi for their PhD.

Last weekend me and Syazwan visited Abg Mokhtar, Kak Kuzi & family in Morgantown. Also, meeting Amanda, Faris and Hanna a.k.a. Yayut was a lot of fun!! Hanna was shy at first but after a few minutes turned out giving me and Syazwan a lot of her special "big hugs". We were joined by Abg Rashid, Kak Melati & family (Hakim, Nadiah, Aiman and Aizat) and the fun multipled!! Thank you to iron chef Kuzilati of West Virginia and iron chef Melati of Ohio for the splendid malayan cuisine. Too bad I only managed to take pictures of a few of them because all of the foods made me think of nothing else..hehe!! Lepas makan dah kenyang baru tingat nak amek gambaq.

After enjoying a rather uncommonly "warm" winter, averaging in the high 40's (fahrenheit), finally in mid-january, the real winter is here to chill and freeze everything on its way. Here are some shots of the first few days of heavy snow that has whitened the earth in Columbus. Although these are still not so bad, in the following three to four months we are expecting a payback by the mother nature for the warmth we've been enjoying in december and early january. Unfortunate enough for me, now I seem to have misplaced my gloves and muffler. Urgghhh...

Trip to Niagara Falls

I think this was during summer 2005. Went there with some buddies because we had a 3 weeks break. It was our first of six destinations - we did a road trip Niagara - RPI - Boston - NYC - DC - Penn State - home. Everything went pretty smooth in all of the destinations except for Boston whose streets are worse than those in KL!! too many constructions..too many road signs..too many detours..and too many cars!! moreover, the streets are not in grid like those in our home city or NYC or DC...the streets in Boston are just so messed up and I happened to be the driver at that time. luckily we rented (free upgrade) this huge jeep grand cherokee but the downside is it "makan minyak" so badly. The trip ended up costing us $170 per-person. quite expensive but i think it's not too bad for a six-destination road trip. the photos are actually from my old coolpix 3700, before i acquired coolpix P2.

Being so busy during school quarter (or lazy), I rarely went out. Even when I went out, I forgot to bring my camera most of the time.
